I have found yet another great Iced Coffee place!! Is this just the norm these days? Are milky iced coffees a thing of the past? I hope so!

Located on the corner of York Street and Peels place is our local institution of Cosi’s Café. Cosi’s was established in 1986 and is a favourite of both locals and tourists alike to this very day.

Running under the watchful and incredibly experienced by the coffee master himself, Kevin Lazar, Cosi’s oozes comfort. Featuring a spacious seating space with both window tables and comfortable booth seating, as well as perfectly located and abundant outdoor seating. Cosi’s offers a delicious menu including fresh cakes and sweet treats, delicious breakfasts, tasty smoothies, and a large range of made to order meals from Salads to Burgers to Souvlaki and more, Cosi’s has it all.

I dropped in this afternoon for a quick coffee and catch up, ordered the obligatory bowl of chips as I had my toddler in tow. Settled into a lovely big booth table with my son and friend. The staff working on the counter and the coffee machine were all bubbly and friendly, making for a relaxing atmosphere. Sun streamed in the large windows and I have to say the view of the St. Johns Anglican Church, constructed from the year 1841, is not too hard on the eyes at all. Wow, I assumed it was an old building, but I hadn’t realised how old it was. But back to Cosi’s. Settled in to catch up with my friend, our food and drinks came to the table in just minutes and looking absolutely beautiful. For something as plain as chips and coffee, oh and a strawberry milkshake, I was very impressed! The menu does state that the chips are seasoned (also, they offer sweet potato chips, and wedges for those who are that way inclined) but oh wow, they are super seasoned, they are perfectly crisp and absolutely delicious! And my iced coffee, again, was nice and strong! I really am having the best luck with iced coffee lately! This one was smooth and creamy, and actually tasted like coffee. Absolutely delicious. I must make an effort to stop in more often.

It doesn’t hurt that Cosi’s is in such a prime location. Right in the centre of town, surrounded by beautiful shops, restaurants, and a few heritage buildings. Being so close to the beautiful Lavender Cottage I do feel like the perfect day would start with breakfast at Cosi’s followed up by lunch at Lavender Cottage, perhaps with a nice long walk up York Street to walk off the calories and make some more room in the stomach, ha ha. There are some gorgeous shops to check out in York Street, Ricarda Fashions, Stamms Emporium, Wombat Lodge, The Sugar Boy, Appleyards, Paperbark Merchants and Empire Blue just to name a few. If you wanted to take your walk the other way, down the main street, you could wander down to the beautiful Anzac Peace Park, along the Albany Marina which opened in 2010 to commemorate the departure to the war front of soldiers who served in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) in World War I. A beautiful place to wander down with a perfect takeaway coffee from Cosi’s.

I highly recommend you add a meal at Cosi’s café to your plans for this weekend. You will not be disappointed!
